The Electronic System Design Alliance (ESD Alliance), an international association of companies providing goods and services throughout the semiconductor design ecosystem, is a forum to address technical, marketing, economic and legislative issues affecting the entire industry. It acts as the central voice to communicate and promote the value of the semiconductor design industry as a vital component of the global electronics industry.

The ESD Alliance committees focus on issues of common interest where members can meet to influence and stay abreast of industry initiatives such as Anti-Piracy, Export Controls, and the Industry OS Roadmap. By focusing on commonality and promoting cooperation, the ESD Alliance augments the effectiveness of the tools, services, and communications provided by its members for the customer community that the member companies serve.

The ESD Alliance is also the networking hub for the industry and hosts educational and other events relevant to the industry and community interest. These events range from presentations on topics of importance to panel discussions and interviews with entrepreneurs.

The Alliance also seeks collaborative opportunities with member companies, business and community leaders and governmental agencies to provide a platform for discussion, debate and idea generation for the betterment of the whole semiconductor ecosystem.

Member companies have access to the detailed quarterly Market Statistics Services (MSS) reports and are encouraged to participate in the ESD Alliance committees of their choice. In addition, members enjoy no-charge admission to most ESD Alliance events, preferred pricing for attendance at the annual Phil Kaufman Award dinner and a discount on exhibit space at the annual Design Automation Conference.

The ESD Alliance is funded by member dues, sponsorships and surplus income from their two co-sponsored industry tradeshow conferences: the Design Automation Conference (DAC), and the Design, Automation & Test in Europe (DATE).
